Abstract:Hot stamping process is a high non-linear process showing the effect on thermal, mechanical and metallurgical phenomena as they relate to each other. In order to carry out this coupled numerical simulation, fundamental thermal properties such as interfacial heat transfer coefficient and convection heat transfer coefficient as well as crucial mechanics properties were first investigated. Hot stamping tools with cooling system which has been optimized by genetic algorithm were employed in the simulation. The coupled numerical simulation to the whole hot stamping process was built with the ABAQUS/Explicit and FLUENT. Experiment was setup and the results of blank temperature and spring-back were compared with the results of coupled numerical simulation. The comparisons show that the simulation results of numerical model are consistent with experimental results.
