Abstract: Long-distance f-f interactions: Systematic and comparative studies of the magnetic properties of a series of isostructural sandwich-type tetrakis-ACHTUNGTRENUNG(phthalocyaninato) diterbium and monoterbium quadruple-decker complexes clearly reveal the suppression of the quantum tunneling of magnetization by the long-distance intramolecular f-f interactions (see figure). © 2012 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH&Co.
