Abstract:Cloud storage service brings great convenience to the users. However, in cloud storage, the storage servers may not be fully trustworthy. Therefore, the data stored on the cloud server whether is keep intact becomes an increasingly concerned problem. Chen et al. proposed a remote data possession checking protocol to solve this issue, but the protocol is vulnerable to forgery attack and replaces attack. Yu et al. proposed an improved protocol to fix the security flaws. Unfortunately, the verification overhead of Yu's protocol is still high when verifying multiple cloud files. Then, a hierarchical enhanced remote data possession checking protocol is proposed, which can provide more efficient remote data integrity protection. This paper gives the algorithm descriptions, analyses, and experimental evaluations for the proposed protocol. The results show that the proposed protocol is more efficient than Yu's protocol and is reliable in verifying massive cloud files.
