Abstract:The classic model of the third-generation WAVEWATCH III model is chosen for simulation of the wave evolution driven by the wind field near islands and reefs in Western Pacific. The results obtained from simulation are compared with the measured buoy data by China Ship Scientific Research Center, thus the feasibility of using WAVEWATCH III to simulate the wave evolution driven by the wind field near islands and reefs is validated.
