Abstract:The high cost and the low interoperability of BIM software have become the barriers for the development of BIM. BIM Open source software can solve these problems effectively. BIM open source software exists for a long time,but relevant studies are still rare. This paper conducts a quantitative analysis on international BIM open source software from multiple dimensions. This study also introduces the function and characteristics of the typical BIM open source software in detail. The results show that the developers in BIM open source software field have preferences on computer languages and open source licenses. The findings of this study can facilitate practitioners and developers to conduct in-depth analysis in the BIM field.
