Abstract:Double-faced giant magnetostrictive thin films (GMFs) characterize big strain and prompt response, which has widespread prospect for some applications in the field of microelectromechanical system (MEMS). A new dynamic model for double-faced GFMs in cantilever structure is proposed, whose principle is to analyze its dynamic behavior of GFMs according to force oscillation theory, in which equivalent external disturbed drive torque is converted from internal magnetostrictive drive stress based on equivalent deformation of compound GFMs beam. Experiments show that the modified model can describe the dynamic behavior of GFMs at a certain driving frequency effectively.
